SpatialDE
Spatial Dependency Engine
Product boundary
Chalice.Systems is the product - workspace, navigation, visualization, and decision interfaces.
SpatialDE is the underlying engine - dependency evaluation, domain models, derivations, provenance, and geometry readiness.
Dependency-first modeling
PROJECT INTENT → DOMAIN SELECTION → EVIDENCE → REQUIREMENTS → PROGRAM / FUNCTIONS → AREAS → RELATIONSHIPS → DEPENDENCY GRAPH → MASSING / VOLUME → SPATIAL CONSTRAINTS → EARNED GEOMETRY → ZONES / DECKS / FLOORS → SPACES → EQUIPMENT / SYSTEMS → SIMULATION → DIGITAL TWIN → OPERATIONS
Geometry emerges only after upstream dependencies justify it. The same dependency progression applies whether the subject is a building, a cruise ship, a vehicle, or another spatial model. Unresolved state - including HOLD and null - is legitimate output.
Source of truth
The structured domain model is authoritative. UI views and any future 3D scene are projections of earned spatial state - not independent sources of truth.
Example system types
Chalice.Systems is general-purpose and not limited to buildings. A project begins by selecting what kind of spatial system is being modeled - warehouses, homes, apartments, cruise ships and other vessels, vehicles, campuses, healthcare facilities, and more. Each system type adds domain knowledge without forking the core engine.
Current maturity
SpatialDE core behavior is not implemented in this repository yet. The product shell and system registry establish the architecture. Engine behavior will be integrated as proven abstractions emerge from real projects.
